We are excited that your child will be joining us as a new Pelican or making the transition from the Nest to the Day School. This page, in conjunction with the general Parent Resources page, provides helpful information as you prepare for the start of the new academic year.
New Family Welcome & Info Night
Join us on Thursday, May 4th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm for a new family information night. This event is designed to help our new families learn more about St. James. The first half of the evening we will discuss general information about St. James (uniforms, academic calendar, parent volunteer opportunities, etc); the second half we will break out into grade-specific groups led by our teachers. The teachers will take parents to classrooms and discuss topics specific to that grade (naps mats, preparing for the first day of school, etc). We will have an in-depth “Back to School Night” in August with detailed info about academics, enrichments, etc, but the New Family Info Night is designed to answer the big questions parents have leading up to the start of school.
Summer Camp: Pelicans at Play
We look forward to a fun summer of activities with our students. We will offer camp the month of June, Monday – Thursday from 8:30-2:00. Each session is $200, with a required $50 non-refudable registration fee.

WEEK 2 | June 12-15 | $200 |

General Information
While our general family resources page provides information used throughout the year, the below documents highlight the most important information for the start of school. The Welcome Document includes information about uniforms, helpful contact information and general supply information (we provide all academic supplies, so you do not need to purchase those).
For families transitioning from the Pelican’s Nest to the Day School (PreK-3), please be sure to look through the uniform guide to review uniform changes and read the bathroom policy to ensure your child is independent in their bathroom needs.
Pelican’s Nest Information & Forms
The Pelican’s Nest is our early childhood program for students 18 to 35 months. Students in our Pelican’s Nest must complete and return a series of forms to our Nest Director, Janine Borne (jborne@stjameseds.org). Mrs. Borne sends detailed instructions about each document in early July, at which time we will add them to this page.
