Chapel Service

  • Our student's spiritual formation is fostered by attendance and active participation in twice weekly church services and community projects.

Technology

  • Technology starts young at St. James with Pre-K students creating Christmas podcasts for their parents.
  • Our second grades use the Inspired Classroom configuration for instruction.
  • All of our students in Grades 3-5 have individual Dell Latitude 2100 personal laptops.
  • Fifth graders staff and anchor our daily broadcasts from our state of the art broadcast studio.
  • The 2008 LACUE Technology Elementary Teacher of the Year is our Instructional Technology Resource Teacher.
  • The 2009 LACUE Technology Elementary Teacher of the Year is our Librarian.

Foreign Language

  • Foreign language instruction in Spanish begins in Pre-K and continues through Grade 5.

Financial Aid

  • Tuition is paid in full or financed through the Bank Tuition Plan by July 1st. 
  • St. James offers need-based financial assistance to admitted applicants to meet the difference between what a family can afford for education and the cost of tuition. 

Extended Care

  • St. James offers an Extended Care Program for students in Pre-K through Grade 5 from 3:00-5:30 pm.

Extracurricular Activities

  • St. James encourages after school activities in music, intramural sports, and scouts.

  • St. James Episcopal Day School is an independent school accredited by the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools and is approved by the Louisiana State Department of Education. 
  • Memberships and affiliations include the International Reading Association, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Louisiana Library Association, National Association of Elementary Schools Principals, and Education and Records Bureau.
